volunteer

A volunteer is someone who gives their time, energy and talents—and expects nothing in return. However, the benefits of volunteering are often enormous. The right match can help a volunteer connect to others and make new friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills or even advance a career. At Dakota Communities we are fortunate to benefit from the many dedicated volunteers who have chosen to share their time with the people we support.

Many volunteer opportunities for a group or individual are available for you to share your passions with us. A variety of activities are available at locations throughout the Greater Twin Cities metro area.
  Adopt a Garden
Group Opportunities
adopt-a-garden, adopt-a-highway, adopt-a-home, STARS self-advocacy meetings and more.

Individual Opportunities
crafts, cooking, community events, playing games, fundraising, gardening, reading, scrapbooking, sewing, swimming and more.

Training and Orientation
Our volunteer orientation is held twice per month on the first Saturday morning of each month and the third Tuesday evening of each month. Special orientation can be scheduled for large groups or special events.

Ready to volunteer?
Begin the volunteer process by completing a short form with your preferences and we will contact you to determine the details.
